Uniform
The school encourages a uniform which consists of the following:
Plain white polo shirt
Grey trousers / school shorts / skirt
Green jumper / cardigan
A green/white gingham dress may be worn in warmer weather
A grey pinafore.
Please note that all cardigans and jumpers must have the school logo on them.
Footwear:
Children should wear appropriate school footwear, black in colour – not fashion shoes or sports trainers which are more suited to leisure wear.
Uniform items, with the school logo embroidered on the front, are available at Harrisons Children’s Wear on Blackburn Road or at Asda.
P.E. and Games Kits
Children will not be required to bring a separate PE/Games kit to school. Instead, all children should come to school in their games kit on the days when they have PE or Games lessons (your child’s class teacher will provide you with this information). An appropriate Games kit should consist of clothing appropriate for the time of year. For example, a pair of trainers, shorts or jogging bottoms, a plain t-shirt and a tracksuit top or plain jumper.
School bags
Throughout the school, children are encouraged to use a school book bag to carry all their books and other resources they need for school. Book bags can be purchased directly from the school office. Children should not bring large rucksacks / sports bags to school due to lack of space.
Jewellery & Makeup
On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are simple, stud earrings in pierced ears, and a watch. Children must remove or cover these items during PE and games to prevent them from causing injury. No makeup or nail varnish should be worn in school.
Extreme hairstyles
The school does not permit children to have extreme haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children and are not in keeping with the ethos of the school. This includes patterns shaved into the hair, excessive use of hair products and false hair. The definition of an extreme hairstyle is at the discretion of the Head Teacher.
